MyCape/MyTown Designs Story Jewelry says a lot about who we are. We wear it to look beautiful, feel complete, let people know our personal style. Here in the little village of Onset, a local artist who has requested to remain anonymous, has crafted a special line of jewelry that tells a story of your travels and offers hope and assistance to local charities and organizations. MyCape/MyTown Designs started off as a way for our artist to create a line of affordable yet beautiful jewelry that recognizes the beauty of Cape Cod and the SouthCoast. The Old Company Store was offered the exclusive rights to carry her work and together they came up with a plan to share the jewelry with the community in a way that helped raise money for local and national concerns. MyCape Bracelets are representations of your favorite town or beach on Cape Cod. The slim sterling cuff has a beautiful bead centered for all to see. More beads can be added or inter-changed for a new look every day. Many a re graced with a small sterling charm that dangles gracefully adding sparkle and interest to the design. Wareham, for example, shares a beautiful blue and white floral stone with a dangling swan. Marion is offered with or without a sail boat, and Mattapoisett is graced with a charming seahorse. The beads also fit the Pandora, Troll, and Chamile bracelets and some inspired women have even incorporated them onto thier Cape Cod Bracleet with the designer beads offered through the shop. Always on the lookout for ways to work with local charities, the owners of the Old Company Store decided that they would share a $5 portion of the proceeds with each event recognized by the bracelet. Relay for Life offers so much hope and inspiration to our community. The efforts of the The Next Generation RFL organizer, Justine Brown, commited herself to selling so many Relay for Life Bracelets that she was able to give her group almost $200. The Fireworks MyCape/MyTown arrived two weeks before the 4th of July. In those two weeks, the shop featured the bracelets on Facebook, as well as Cool 102. In less than 10 days, $150 dollars was raised to assist in the fireworks fund in Onset. Other organizations include, Susan B. Komen Breast Cancer fund, American Heart Association, and coming soon, Habitat for Cats and Coalition for Buzzards Bay. The artist encourages organizations to request assistance through the Old Comapny Store. She will design the bracelet for the organization and event, but requests that you help promote and advertise the sales to increase awareness of the cause. In every community there is a place where we can feel good about making a difference. With the beginning of this fabulous jewelry line, you can look great and feel incredible knowing that you have made a difference in the lives of others. - Shari Aussant www.oldcompanystore.com
